We’re Hiring: Program Engagement & Outreach Coordinator

Position Overview

The Program Engagement & Outreach Coordinator supports student engagement and recruitment by assisting with content creation, communications, event production and admissions support. This role contributes to a broad portfolio of projects throughout the year and helps ensure student experiences are well-documented and communicated across TFAS programs.

This position reports to the Division Director of Outreach, Engagement & Program Operations and is part of the Collegiate Programs & Alumni Engagement team. The role works closely with colleagues across communications, admissions and program operations to support recruitment initiatives, student programming and outreach campaigns.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Washington, D.C., with a hybrid schedule (generally four days in the office and one remote day per week).

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously. They bring a blend of creativity and execution, with an interest in content creation, event support and student-facing communications.

This role offers hands-on experience in higher education programming and marketing t outreach, with the opportunity to build skills in communications, recruitment support and event execution within a mission-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation 40%

  • Design digital content, including written articles, graphics, presentations and visual storytelling that showcases TFAS student experiences and alumni stories
  • Capture, edit and organize photos and videos from student events for use across digital and print campaigns and reports
  • Maintain an organized digital media archive to support future campaigns and reporting

Recruitment & Admissions 20%

  • Support student recruitment through outreach campaigns, events and communications
  • Assist with application processing, CRM data management and applicant communications during peak admissions and enrollment periods
  • Represent TFAS at recruitment events, campus visits and conferences as needed
  • Support tracking and reporting of recruitment and engagement data to inform outreach strategy and reporting

Program Operations 40%

  • Assist with planning and execution of student activities for spring and summer programs, including professional development and cultural excursions
  • Document events through photography and video, capturing content for use in recruitment, engagement and promotional materials
  • Coordinate with external vendors (such as photographers or videographers) when appropriate

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:

  • 1–3+ years of relevant experience in higher education, communications, video editing, event support or a related field (internships and part-time roles welcome)
  • Ability to travel, up to 15%
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of photo, video or design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)
  • Comfort capturing basic photo and video content at live events
  • Familiarity with creating basic graphics and presentations
  • Experience working with databases/CRMs, email platforms and basic analytics
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in storytelling
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

The projected salary range for this position is $45,000–$65,000, commensurate with experience, skills and qualifications.
