What is your advice for the TFAS summer?
Send emails after networking! Even if you don’t get a response right away, it serves as a record of that meeting. You never know when that connection might pop up again.
What is your favorite spot/activity in D.C. that students should try?
A very low-key activity I really enjoyed was going for long walks in the Georgetown and Cathedral Heights areas of D.C. on Sunday afternoons. These are really nice places to bring a friend, chat and just enjoy the ambiance of this very pretty part of the D.C.

What is your advice for the TFAS summer?
Do all the things. It might be scary or uncomfortable, but this is your chance to explore D.C. and network as a student and intern. You don’t have to know everything or be perfect. So do it scared.
2. What is your favorite spot/activity in D.C. that students should try?
&pizza. I discovered this little pizza spot near District House in the first week with one of my suitemates, and we made it a weekly outing. They also have the cutest little outside patio to eat at!

What is your advice for the TFAS summer?
Pack a handheld fan and keep it with you at all times… D.C. summers are beasts! When it comes to the professional world, never be afraid to share your accomplishments and achievements! You worked hard for what you’ve achieved, and while it’s always important at times to listen and learn, there are moments to brag about yourself a little. Don’t be shy!
What is your favorite spot/activity in D.C. that students should try?
For food, I recommend splurging on Oyamel, it’s a wonderful Mexican restaurant by Jose Andres. For sights, Hillwood Estate or the botanical gardens!

Take advantage of the many museums! D.C. has so many unique museums, and you can often get in for free or at a discounted rate with a student ID!

Baked and Wired cupcakes. Hands down the best cupcakes in D.C.!
