Hosting interns is a rewarding and invigorating experience. Organizations consistently open their doors to the fresh perspectives, energy and enthusiasm young people bring to the job. Many professionals will attest that their experience as an intern was a key component to their future success and professional development. As we progress into a post-Covid world, it is critical students continue to have the opportunity to take this important first step in their careers. Hosting an intern requires more creativity than before as we navigate working in remote and hybrid environments.
Having placed interns in Washington, D.C. for more than 50 years, TFAS was able to work with hundreds of organizations during the height of the pandemic to ensure students continued to gain professional experience as in-person, hybrid or remote interns. We’ve learned a great deal and would like to share some of those lessons with you.
By the end of the webinar, you will have the tools to plan and host an intern in a hybrid work environment this summer.

Dorothy Douglas Taft ’83
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, The Market Project
Dorothy Douglas Taft serves as Executive Director of The Market Project, a nonprofit committed to creating jobs by building healing workplaces. Throughout her career, Dorothy has defended the human rights and dignity of men and women living in virtually every continent, with a focus on U.S. and international policy to protect human rights, advocacy for the most vulnerable, and engagement on trauma healing issues. She has 25+ years of experience working in the United States Congress and the US Agency for International Development (USAID). Dorothy also oversees the trauma-informed training and programs that The Market Project integrates into the workplaces being built. In 2021, Dorothy completed the Global Mental Health: Trauma and Recovery course from Harvard Medical School’s Program in Refugee Trauma; and in 2014, Missio Seminary’s Global Trauma Recovery Institute CE training. She is an alumna of The Fund for American Studies. She and her husband live in Alexandria, VA.

Tash Guenther
Senior Account Manager, kglobal
Tash Guenther is a Senior Account Manager at kglobal, she focuses on project management and client success. Previously, her work entailed media outreach, market research, event execution, and digital campaigns for corporate and non-profit clients. She specialized in maximizing results from securing local and national press coverage to leveraging social media as vehicle to increase brand awareness and drive consumer engagement. Lastly, Tash manages kglobal’s year-round internship program, having done so since 2019.

Rebecca Lind ’18
ASSOCIATE, US-Taiwan Business Council
Rebecca Lind joined the staff of the US-Taiwan Business Council in June 2019, after having served as a Council intern during the summer of 2018. She was promoted from Staff Assistant to Associate in 2021. Rebecca provides general support and assistance to Council staff and members and acts as the special assistant to the President. She helps produce and disseminate Council information products, provides logistics support for meetings and events, assists in vendor relations, and is the initial point of contact for all incoming Council correspondence and phone contacts. Finally, she manages the Council’s fall, spring, and summer internship programs.
