Housing

Students are encouraged to find their own housing accommodations that meet their personal preferences for the summer.

LSI does offer optional housing in residential buildings in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington DC, just a short walk from the Capitol Building, the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court and two Metrorail stations.

For an additional fee of $1,950, students may choose to live in a furnished historic apartment with a shared bedroom. Each apartment includes 2-3 bedrooms, with 2 people assigned to each bedroom.

The apartments are internet-ready and air-conditioned, and have easily accessible laundry facilities. Each apartment has a fully furnished kitchen with plates, silverware, and glassware. Also included are two or three twin-sized beds, a table and chairs, a full bathroom and closets. The living/dining area is equipped with a TV with basic cable. While each apartment layout is different, the amenities included are the same. A limited number of single bedrooms within a shared apartment may be available for an additional cost of $1,200.

LSI staff will hand-match you with roommates based on compatibility preferences provided in a housing survey completed at the time of enrollment.

LSI apartments are owned and operated by Washington Intern Student Housing (WISH). All occupants are subject to WISH policies, terms and conditions. Click here for more details.

Students not comfortable living with 2-6 roommates in a historic building setting are highly encouraged to find accommodations elsewhere.

Students seeking  non-dormitory accommodations may want to consider the luxury condominiums provided by Washington Intern Student Housing (WISH). More information may be found here: http://internsdc.com/property/luxury-condos/

“LSI connected me with other amazing law students smack dab in the center of a powerful political and legal climate. It was the best summer of my life, and being in the nation's capital was an invaluable experience.”
