LSI participants live in residential apartment buildings in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, DC. This area features shops, restaurants, coffee houses and a lively night life.
Housing is within a short walk to the Capitol Building, the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court and two Metrorail stations.
About the Apartments
Participants will be housed in furnished apartments in the Capitol Hill neighborhood in downtown Washington. Each apartment has one or more bedrooms, a full kitchen, one or more full baths, washer/dryer and a living/dining area. Apartments are fully furnished, including a complete kitchen and are internet-ready, air conditioned, and have accessible laundry facilities.
There will be two students living in each bedroom, but single rooms are available for an additional cost. Students who wish to find their own accommodations must inform Institute staff upon acceptance to the program.
Transportation
The apartments are just a short walk from the Eastern Market and Capitol South metro stations. Multiple forms of transportation are available near these metro stations.
Neighborhood
The historic apartment buildings, located on the House side of Capitol Hill, are part of the largest residential neighborhood in Washington. It is one of the oldest residential communities in D.C. with numerous shops, restaurants, Congressional buildings and many of the city’s most significant cultural attractions close by.
