Institute Philanthropy Project

IPVS Students host a community car wash to raise money for DC Youth

A key component of the IPVS experience is participating in the Institute Philanthropy Project. This interactive project allows students to directly impact the Washington, DC community through service and philanthropy, while learning valuable event-planning, fundraising, grantmaking and facilitation skills. This interactive project allows students to plan and implement fundraising events and at the end of the summer, the IPVS class will present a grant award to a worthy organization of the class’ choosing. Students also take part in service projects that give them first-hand experience in the DC community.

Students will be responsible for serving on one of the fundraising committees, voting in the final grantmaking decision and taking part in service projects.

”Sometimes when I think back about my time in IPVS, I have to pinch myself to remind myself that it is real. I was able to do so many wonderful things this summer. The program really helped me figure out what I want to do after graduation.”
Kristi Beroldi

“Without this experience from TFAS, it would be like writing a book with no context, no vision and no inspiration. It was this TFAS experience that reinvented the possibilities and endeavors which will continue to drive my future.”
Lana Klipfel
