Internships

Overview

IPVS students enjoy a service day in the DC community

As part of the Institute experience, students gain valuable professional experience by interning approximately 30 hours a week with a national nonprofit organization, local charity or foundation.

Internships are matched with students' specific interests, abilites, career goals as well as the needs of the internship sites..

Intern responsibilities vary, but include:

  • Fundraising
  • Direct Service
  • Policy Research
  • Event Planning
  • Volunteer Management
  • Communications/PR

Below is a sample weekly internship schedule:

Monday -9:00am - 3:00pm
Tuesday- 9:00am-3:00pm
Wednesday- 9:00am-3:00pm
Thursday- 9:00am-3:00pm
Friday- 12:00pm -5:00pm.
