INTERNSHIPS

Overview

IBGA Students Kelly Snyder (L) and Beth Marcotte pictured with Marion Blakey, President and CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association

By interning for corporate government relations and lobbying experts from a wide range of issues, students learn how companies represent their interests in the nation’s capital.

For approximately 30 hours a week, students will intern in the lobbying office of a national corporation, lobbying firm, or trade association.

Internships are matched with students based on the needs of internship sites and on the student’s skills and experience as expressed on their resume. Students are asked to complete a detailed internship questionnaire upon enrollment which will help Institute Staff facilitate the placement process.

Below is a sample weekly internship schedule:

Monday - 9:00am - 4:00pm
Tuesday - 9:00am - 5:30pm
Wednesday - 9:00am - 5:30pm
Thursday - 9:00am - 5:30pm
Friday - No Internships

“IBGA was a remarkable experience that highly exceeded my expectations. It was a great opportunity to meet interesting and highly skilled business professionals, who will be great assets in advancing my future career. I would recommend this program to everyone interested in how the government and businesses interact.”
