By interning for and meeting with corporate government relations and lobbying experts from a wide range of issues, students learn how companies represent their interests in the nation’s capital.
For approximately 30 hours a week, students will intern in the lobbying office of a major national corporation, lobbying firm, or trade association. The Institute's staff will match you with an internship that best meets your interests, your level of skill, and the needs of the intern sponsor.
Below is a sample weekly internship schedule:
Monday - 9:00am -4:00pm
Tuesday - 9:00am -5:30pm
Wednesday - 9:00am - 5:30pm
Thursday - 9:00am - 5:30pm
Friday - No Internships

Internships provide students with a first-hand look at the delicate relationship between business and government.
Intern responsibilities vary, but often include:
- Covering Congressional Hearings
- Conducting Research
- Coordinating Events
- Managing Databases
- Writing for a Newsletter or Other Publication
