What better place to gain valuable business, lobbying and leadership skills than in Washington, D.C., where government is the number one business?
IBGA Class of 2010 on the steps of Georgetown’s Healy Hall

The Institute on Business and Government Affairs (IBGA) is a pro-business lobbying internship and academic program that provides approximately 75 students each summer with important lessons about the link between free-enterprise and government.

With a single application, students are enrolled in course at Georgetown University, live in a furnished apartment on campus in the heart of D.C. and are placed in a competitive internship for eight weeks.

IBGA is designed for undergraduate students interested in lobbying, business, public policy and national politics, serving as a stepping stone for future careers. The combination of work experience, academic excellence and professional development gives IBGA students the edge in today’s competitive job market.

By meeting with government relations and lobbying experts from a wide range of industries students will learn how companies represent their interests in the nation's capital. As part of the Institute experience, students attend the program’s annual Congressional Scholarship Award Dinner, where Senators are honored for their service to our nation.

“IBGA really lives up to the Live, Learn, Intern slogan. You hit the ground running academically, professionally and socially. What you learn and gain through TFAS is an opportunity that cannot be passed up.”
