- Evelyn Brensinger, '02 International Labor Organization Skidmore College The
experience, knowledge and contacts you will gain through the Engalitcheff Institute
will be valuable assets, and can increase your earning power in the job market
and enhance your prospects in applying to graduate schools. Many of our alumni
attribute their first job out of college to their "Fund" experience.
At first glance, the cost of the Institute may seem more than your family can afford. However, The Fund for American Studies makes every effort to make the Institute accessible and affordable to outstanding students, regardless of their financial status. Our policy is to offer as much scholarship assistance as possible. Last year, we offered scholarships ranging from $500 - $3,500 to about half of the students who attended, with an average award of $2,000. More than $150,000 in aid will be offered for the summer 2004 program. Program costs and scholarship opportunities are outlined below.
The following scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence, extracurricular achievement, and leadership ability, with financial need as a secondary consideration.
The Institute will award 10 "Freedom Education Trust Fund Scholarships" -- $4,000. Charles Edison Scholarships The Institute will award 28 "Charles Edison Scholarships" -- $2,500. Walter Judd Scholarships The Institute will award 28 "Walter Judd Scholarships" -- $1,500. NEXT PAGE
