Students spend a day at Mount Vernon

Throughout the semester, optional activities are planned to encourage students to socialize with other participants outside of the classroom, and to take advantage of the many attractions D.C. has to offer.
Past social activities have included:
- A walking tour of the city's monuments and landmarks
- Visits to the National Portrait Gallery and the Smithsonian Institutions
- A trip Mount Vernon, George Washington's home
- Sporting events such as a Washington Nationals baseball game or a Georgetown basketball game
- Receptions and networking events
- Old Town Alexandria Ghost Tour
- Jazz in the Sculpture Garden
- DC Improv
- Tour of the Library of Congress
- Cultural Nights
