"This
may well have been the best summer of my life. Through my internship I not only
learned a lot about my industry but also the basics of Washington politics and
lobbying." -
Elizabeth Bosshard-Blackey, '01 National
Food Processors Association University of Vermont
For
approximately 35 hours a week, you will intern in a lobbying
office of a major national corporation or trade association. The Institute's staff
will match you with an internship that best meets your interests, level of skill,
and the needs of the corporate sponsor. Internships provide students with a firsthand
look at the delicate relationship between business and government. Intern responsibilities
vary, but often include covering congressional hearings, conducting research,
coordinating events, managing databases, and writing for a newsletter or
other publication. Sample List of Internships (Full
