Rob Simpson currently serves as manager of the Public Policy and Economics program for The Fund for American Studies (TFAS), a position he has held since January 2019.

Prior to joining TFAS, Rob worked as research director for a political action committee in Washington, D.C., for five years. It was there where he first connected with TFAS, serving as the intern coordinator for his association for four years, then as a mentor to TFAS students during the 2017 and 2018 summers. Rob has seen first-hand the good work TFAS does, and is excited to now be a part of the team.

A Connecticut native, Rob graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He has worked on political campaigns on the federal, state and local levels for nearly a decade. Before to moving to D.C., Rob served as a legislative aide in the Connecticut General Assembly.

In his free time, Rob loves to talk about politics, sports and the weather. He also loves to cook. He met his fiancée, Eileen, in D.C. in 2014, and they are getting married later this year. They love to watch “The Office,” go on hikes with their dog, Sarah, and visit wineries throughout Maryland and Virginia.
