The Fund for American Studies has sponsored summer institutes in partnership with Georgetown University for almost 40 years. In the spring of 2003, Capital Semester was established to offer student leaders the opportunity to spend an entire semester in Washington.
The Capital Semester program is one of five different "Live. Learn. Intern." programs held in Washington, D.C. that combine hands-on professional experience, academic learning, and exclusive briefings to provide college students with an unparalleled experience in the nation's capital.
The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) was founded in 1967 to help instill in young people an appreciation for the American form of government and the free enterprise system. TFAS sponsors Institutes around the world that teach college students about the principles and values upon which the United States was founded.
